Overview: 3D/4D Baby Reassurance and Bonding Scan - Non Medical
- This 3D 4D ultrasound scan gives you a unique opportunity to bond with your unborn baby.
Using the latest ultrasound technology, we can show you what your baby looks like with our 3d scan service. At the time of the scan, the scanner generates life-like images and video of the baby in the womb. An initial 2D ultrasound scan to check the baby's position and heartbeat is performed.
- At Ultrasound Dimensions we know that the quality of ultrasound images varies from patient to patient.
Utilizing the expertise of our sonographers and the latest ultrasound technology, we take great care to produce perfect images. While there are many factors that can affect the images of the baby (position, fluid, stage of pregnancy) we won't let you leave without good images of your precious baby - guaranteed!
- You should allow 30-45 minutes for your appointment.
During your session we will scan for around 20 - 30 minutes, which will allow us enough time to obtain 2D, 3D and 4D images and video of your baby. Your safety and comfort is our top concern in delivering this unique and special experience to you. If your baby is being 'shy' or in a difficult position, you may be asked to take a walk and have a fizzy drink which will lengthen the time of your appointment. To ensure you receive clear images and video your baby, on occasion we may ask you to return on a different day to try again, at no extra cost.
- During the scan we will record a DVD of the session.
In addition to the DVD, we will give you a CD with 20 - 40 images of your baby obtained throughout your scan and 6 glossy photo prints to share with family and friends.
- We recommend that 3D/4D scans be done at the 22 - 34 week period, when more detailed facial images can usually be seen.
At your request we can also determine the gender of the baby with an accuracy of about 95%. Finding out if your baby is a boy or girl is completely optional. If you don't want to know what you are having we will do our best to protect this area from view :)
The 3D/4D ultrasound scan does not replace your hospital scan, 3D Scans / 4D Scans are not medical exams as only the surface of the baby is demonstrated. To check the health and well being of your baby you can also elect for our detailed anomaly or well baby ultrasound scan.

I just wanted to say a big thank you for the wonderful experience we had at Ultrasound Dimensions. It was our second visit to you; we had a 3d scan done in July 2008 when I was pregnant with my little boy. As I was only 12 weeks pregnant this time we didn't expect to see so much detail. It was amazing and so reassuring to see our baby and it was lovely to bring our little boy, who is 19 months now along too. He has now taken ownership of the pictures we got from the day and to his delight will point out his new baby brother's or sister's toes!
